Returning Your Boat: Departure Checklist

We know the last morning of your holiday can feel a bit busy – bags everywhere, kids looking for phone chargers, someone still making tea… To keep things smooth for you (and for our turnaround team), here’s exactly what we need you to do when returning your boat.

  1. Arrive back on time

    3+ night holidays: please return your boat to the yard by 9:00 am on your departure day.

    2-night breaks: please return by 4:00 pm.

    This gives us enough time to clean, check and prepare the boat for the next guests.

  2. Call in at reception first.

    Pop into reception between 8:15 am and 9:00 am to collect your car keys and let us know you’re back. If you’re unsure where to moor, just ask.

  3. Move your car closer.

    Fetch your car and park it near your boat so unloading is quick and easy. Your back (and your arms) will thank you.

  4. Unload all your belongings.

    Please make sure you’ve taken everything off the boat before you leave – bags, food, fishing tackle, waterproofs, phone chargers, the lot. If it’s yours, grab it.

  5. Clear out the rubbish.

    Pop any rubbish into the bins provided.

    You’ll find them behind the blue corrugated fence to the left of reception and the customer showers.

  6. Leave the boat clean and tidy

    We don’t expect perfection, just a quick once-over:

    • A general tidy-up
    • Surfaces wiped
    • Any obvious spills sorted

    It really helps our turnaround team and keeps things running on time.

  7. Check every nook and cranny

    Have a last walk-through of the boat:

    • Cupboards
    • Drawers
    • Cabins
    • Under seats and cushions

    Phones, glasses and cuddly toys seem to love staying on the Broads, so please double-check!

  8. Leave the boat keys onboard.

    When you’re all done, leave the keys on the boat – either in the ignition or by the door is perfect.

    Just one favour… please don’t leave the engine running.

  9. Visit reception to finish up

    Finally, head back to reception to:

    • Complete any paperwork
    • Sort out fuel charges
    • Arrange security deposit refunds (where applicable)
    • And, if you’re feeling organised, book your next trip while you’re there 😉
