Big improvements coming to our Hoveton day boat base
We’ve got some exciting news from Hoveton and Wroxham.
We’re making a major investment in our day boat operation to make getting out on the Norfolk Broads easier, smoother and more enjoyable for everyone.
What does that mean in real life?
A larger day boat reception
New on-site toilets and improved customer facilities
More parking to reduce queues and congestion
More mooring space, giving us extra room to get boats out and back in smoothly
And 12 brand new electric day boats joining the fleet for 2026
That extra mooring space comes thanks to a bit of shuffling behind the scenes — our Norfolk Boat Sales offices will be moving next door, freeing up valuable frontage right where we need it most.
All designed to take the faff out of day boating — especially on busy summer days.
More electric boats, more choice
Building on the success of our existing electric fleet, 12 new electric day boats will be joining us during the 2026 season. Most will be available from the start of the season in March, with more arriving as the year goes on.
They’re quiet, easy to handle and simple to use, making them ideal whether it’s your first time on a boat or you just fancy a relaxed day exploring the rivers.
Flexible days on the water
Our day boats can be hired from as little as two hours up to a full day — perfect for anything from a short taster trip to a full day mooching along the Broads, with a picnic stop or a pub lunch along the way.
More friendly faces to help you get afloat
We’ve also welcomed three new operational staff members to the team, who’ll be on hand throughout the season to help customers get started quickly and confidently.
As always, our aim is simple:
More time enjoying the water.
Less time worrying about the practical bits.
