Spring 2018 Newsletter

barneshead3.pngWelcome to our Spring Newsletter, our first of the 2018 season.

We’ve had a busy winter building another four of our Brinks Serenades, along with an extensive maintenance programme for the rest of the fleet, the self catering properties & the day boats.

Work has almost finished on Riverside Marina where we have installed new pontoons with water and electricity, and we now have additional car parking which will provide much needed space on busy turnaround days and for boats looking to visit Wroxham during the week.

The first week of the season coincided with the ‘Beast from the East’ making an appearance, but we still had some customers eager to get out and enjoy their time on the Broads.  Thank you to Dave B who provided this photograph from his recent holiday.

During the winter months we have been making some improvements to our website (more of that below) but one of the features we have now added is ‘Customer Reviews’ to all of our Boats & Holiday Homes.  These are honest reviews which we hope will help you when making a decision prior to your booking.

Easter is early this year, just two weeks away but there is still time to book a cruiser or one of our self catering holiday homes to enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend or the school holidays – we do have a couple of ‘Offers’ on during this period.

Plan Your Holiday

With this in mind, we have added a new ‘tab’ to our website menu to help you with planning your holiday before you arrive.

In previous years we added an interactive map which is still available to use and which we are constantly adding to and updating.  In addition to this we have also added a ‘distance calculator’ to help you work out how long your trips will take, a suggested route for both a short break and weekly holiday.  We hope that you will find these ‘tools’ useful.

Press Release – Royalls Boatyard

10th January 2017

Barnes Brinkcraft (Barnes Marine Units Ltd) of Wroxham have today announced that they have bought neighbouring boatyard Royalls and 9 hire craft, after the retirement of Nigel and Sara Royall at the end of last season.

Director Daniel Thwaites said “buying Royalls means that we will have more room to increase our fleet and servicing facilities, and with the trend towards more UK tourists opting to holiday in this country and overseas tourists being lured by the favourable exchange rates, this is the right time for us to expand.”

Barnes Brinkcraft will then operate a fleet of 86 boats from their base at Wroxham including the 9 acquired from Royalls.  Plans for the 2017 season include adding 5 new built boats to the fleet and 3, new three bedroomed holidays homes overlooking their private marina.

Autumn/Winter Newsletter

Autumn/Winter Newsletter

It doesn’t seem possible that we have come to end of another season, but with a real ‘nip’ in the air in the mornings now and the nights getting longer, all the boats will be heading back to the yard for the winter at the end of half term week.

Remember our riverside self catering accommodation is available to rent all year round, so you need not wait until Spring for your next Norfolk Broads ‘fix’.

It was a really busy season for us and the lovely weather lasted well into the late summer.  In July Brinks Rhapsody 3   was launched, which with it’s sleek good looks and electric hybrid propulsion making cruising super quiet, proved really popular with our customers. Work is underway for next year with new boats being added to the fleet, Brinks Serenade, a 4+2 berth and
Brinks Encore  a 2+2 berth.  We will be taking photographs throughout the build and posting them on our Facebook
page, so do keep an eye on how we are getting on.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in our 2017 Brochure photo competition this year, we had some fantastic entries and some of these can be seen in our new brochure.  To see all of the entries, please go to our online Album.  The winners will receive a voucher for £150 off their next holiday.

We have got just one property left for Christmas week, ‘Grebe
one of the Daisy Broad Lodges which can sleep up to 10 people.  We will take care of the Christmas tree for you, and there will be a hamper full of delicious local, seasonal foods for you to enjoy.  On top of all that, you have the use of a Day Launch for the duration of your stay*.

* Subject to weather conditions.

We do still have availability for New Year in the Daisy Broad Lodges, from the 28th December to the 4th of January.  ‘Coot’ and ‘Grebe’ have an inter-connecting door and can sleep up to 20 people – why not get all of your friends and family together for a really big celebration!
