We’ll throw the spotlight on sharks for this event; with talks, feeding demonstrations, kid’s activities and lots more – because sharks need friends too, and they’re amazing, fascinating creatures. Normal admission prices apply.

NORTH NORFOLK RAILWAY, SHERINGHAM – SPOOKY DEPARTURES
Take a journey in darkness, surrounded by ghostly goings-on as you journey up and down the line. Bring along your cameras and see if you’re able to capture evidence of anything particularily phantom!  Our first spooky departure will leave Sheringham at 5pm, this is a journey designed to spook children under the age of eleven! Come and take part in our Best Costume Competition whilst enjoying a Hot Chocolate and a spooky treat! Take time to stop off and explore our Grisly Grotto at Wicked Weybourne before going full steam ahead to Haunted Horrible Holt! Tickets £5 per person, adults and children – Departure 5pm.

FAIRHAVEN GARDENS, SOUTH WALSHAM – FAIRHAVEN SPOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN PARTY
Head to Fairhaven for a spooktacular Halloween party. Enter the creepy woodland trail where lost souls roam, delve down into the haunted hollow where the trees are alive with things unseen. Electrifying live music; children’s entertainers; a devilishly good hot dog stall and lots more. Dress code is diabolical.  6pm to 8pm. Don’t miss fireworks finale at 7.45pm.  £8 adult, £4 child. This pretty village on the Norfolk Broads is host to the 2nd Horning Boat Show – held throughout the village with lots to do for the whole family, this is a day not to be missed!

Broads Outdoor Festival
The Broads Outdoors Festival takes place different locations across Britain’s Magical Waterland.There will be around 100 events from guided wildlife walks and canoe trails to visits to the historic windmills of the Broads, plus lots of opportunities to get out on the water.

Open Day at Norfolk Boat Sales
If you have ever thought about owning your own boat, or you already do and you are thinking of changing, pop along to NBS to take a look at the
huge display of new and used boats.  Ex-hire craft on display.

Guided Tour at St Benets Abbey
Find out about the dramatic rise and fall of this icon of the Broads – from a powerhouse that helped make the Broads landscape, to a romantic ruin with a windmill built on top of it.

6th May
Sail the River Bure on the Wherry Albion
Sail aboard the historic trading wherry Albion and learn about her from her crew whilst sailing to Cockshoot Dyke. Once there you will be guided along the boardwalks with a commentary on the flora and fauna. You will pause at the hide overlooking the broad before returning to the boat for the journey back to Ludham.

9th – 24th May
Norfolk and Norwich Festival
Renowned for bringing art from around the world to Norfolk, first acts named include international jazz superstars Hugh Masekela and Madeleine Peyroux, dance iconoclasts Michael Clark Company and the UK premiere of a new show from Australian new circus pioneers Circa the Festival.

22nd – 25th May
Great Yarmouth Beer & Cider Festival
Held at St Georges Theatre – this annual four day real ale festival features all sorts of local beers and ciders.

The Albion - traditional trading wherry

Horning Village Fete, held on the banks of the River Bure at Horning Staithe.  From 10am traditional offerings of home baked cakes, bric-a-brac, dog show, games, and grand draw, there will be a number of surprise new attractions for both adults and children to enjoy.  The day will end with a barbeque on the Village Green from 6 to 9.30pm, open to all with a pay as you eat menu.

Ladies Day at Great Yarmouth Races

Swallows & Amazons – paddle to TheCanoeMan Woodland Activity Centre where you will be taught the mysterical art of bushcraft, learning to light fires and build shelters.
